The Regional Centre for Maritime Studies (RCMS) stands as a beacon of collaboration in the heart of the Indian Ocean. The Governments of Sri Lanka and France came to agreement on 4th September 2024, in order to establish a Regional centre for Maritime studies.

RCMS is established at General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, Ratmalana and supported by Naval and Maritime Academy, Trincomalee. The Centre is dedicated to strengthening regional maritime capabilities by offering specialized training programs tailored for civil and military professionals.

With a focus on maritime safety, security, and environmental protection, RCMS ensure a safer, more sustainable, and prosperous future for the Indian Ocean region.
