The Regional Centre for Maritime Studies (RCMS) had the distinct honour of hosting Commander Takayuki Kubo, Defence Attaché at the Embassy of Japan in Sri Lanka, on an official visit earlier today.
Commander Kubo was warmly received by Captain Chamila Mendis, Director of RCMS, before engaging in insightful discussions centred around deepening maritime cooperation between Japan and Sri Lanka. Their dialogue explored avenues for future collaboration in maritime security, maritime safety, and marine environment protection.
This engagement underscores the growing interest in strengthening regional partnerships and reflects RCMS’s ongoing commitment to fostering dialogue, mutual learning, and cross-border collaboration in maritime affairs.
As the Indo-Pacific emerges as a critical arena for maritime strategy and sustainability, RCMS remains steadfast in its mission to bridge seas and build knowledge, providing a platform that connects nations, shares expertise, and cultivates peaceful maritime relations across the region.
