A delegation from the European Union visits RCMS

A delegation from the European Union visited the Regional Centre for Maritime Studies (RCMS) today (13 Feb 25).

The visiting delegation consisted of H.E. Carmen Moreno, The Ambassador of the European Union, Mr. Fernando Andersen-Guimaraes, the Director - International Ocean Governance and Sustainable Fisheries, Directorate-General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, European Commission and Mr. Lars Bredal the Deputy Head of Delegation, European Union Delegation to Sri Lanka and the Maldives. The discussion focused on several matters centered on RCMS training opportunities to prevent, deter and eliminate Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated (IUU) Fishing in the region with EU cooperation and collaboration. 

Mrs. Marie-Noëlle Duris, the Chargé d'Affaires of the French Embassy to Sri Lanka, Rear Admiral Dammika Kumara, the Vice Chancellor of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, Captain (ND) Chamila Mendis, the Director - RCMS, Commander Jean Baptiste Trouche, the Maritime Security & Safety Adviser of the French Embassy, and Lieutenant Commander Carine Buzaud, Director of Studies - RCMS were also attended the discussion.
