The Regional Centre for Maritime Studies commenced a course today (19 May 2025) on “Port Safety – Dangerous Goods Law Enforcement” in collaboration with the Global Port Safety (GPS) Project – an initiative funded by the European Union and supported by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs.
The two-week program brings together participants from Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka fostering regional cooperation and knowledge exchange.
The course focuses on fundamental knowledge of dangerous goods handling in ports. Participants will learn about international regulations related to dangerous goods, as well as transport and storage standards, risk assessment, security procedures and innovations in dangerous goods management.
