The Training Course on Targeting and Analysis of Maritime Containers concluded on a high note as participants celebrated their successful completion of the program, which was held at the RCMS. The course spanned from 07 to 11 April 2025 and aimed to equip learners with essential skills in handling maritime containers.

The five-day program brought together 19 course participants from Sri Lanka Customs, Sri Lanka Port Authority, Sri Lanka Navy, Sri Lanka Coast Guard, and Sri Lanka Police. This multi-agency participation underscores the collaborative approach needed to address maritime security challenges.

The course was delivered by three distinguished French experts: Mr. Patrick Mihoub, French Customs Attaché in Bangkok; Mr. Olivier Herbaut, Customs Expert from the Unit to Combat Illegal Container Traffic (CELTICS), Port of Le Havre, France, and Lt. Col Julien Noret, French Deputy Police Liaison Officer to Sri Lanka.

The Course participants benefited from a balanced curriculum of theoretical lectures and practical exercises. A highlight of the programme was a field visit to the Port of Colombo, where they gained firsthand exposure to container operations and the Mega Port Surveillance Systems. This practical component was made possible through the valuable support and informative lecture assistance provided by the Sri Lanka Port Authority and Sri Lanka Customs.
